Abstract

The double-glazing system uses a hollow spacer (2) enclosing desiccant (5) in a shallow, open (7) channel between glass panes (1). The spacer edges (9) grip the sides (16) of the supporting frame, and are embedded in a layer (10) of weatherproof sealant. The support frame (11) has grooves (13) into which the glass panes are inserted and sealed with a silicone-based cushion (17). The grooves (14) in the base of the profile (11) fit over the window frame to which a locking bolt is attached. The lips of the support frame (11) grip the outer surfaces of each pane on one side, while the ends of the corrugated spacer (6) between the panes are flush with the inner surfaces of both panes.
