Abstract

A miniature electrolytic capacitor for use with hybrid film circuits is formed around a box-shaped anodic body of fritted tantalum power. A slot in the box is filled by a tantalum connection. The anodic body is oxidised and then impregnated to form a further layer of manganese dioxide. The cathode connection to this layer is made with a graphite deposit protected by a silver coating. The anode connection can be a gold deposit or a nickel wire soldered to the end of the tantalum. The capacitor can be used on the substrate of a circuit by means of a conductive adhesive.
