Abstract

A liquid storage tank cover has a frame constructed from lengths of tube, kept apart by spacer bars at intervals. Across the diameter are double bars, their top surface, when covered, forming a rainwater gutter evacuated by a hose passing through the tank. The cover is fabricated from sheet metal strips, welded along their edges and fixed to the tubes. A skirt and a flexible joint form a seal between cover and tank. Vertical rods pass through the main tubes and are fitted with a valve arrangement so that, when their extremities touch the bottom of the tank, air is admitted underneath the cover.
