Abstract

The vehicle door is of the type having reinforcing ribs along one side which are joined to body parts near to the door. A hinge bracket (2) has a retaining claw (13) near and directed towards two ribs (10a) (10b) of a reinforcement (8) which is joined directly to the claw (13) of the hinge which is in turn fixed to the windscreen support (3). The ribs (10a, 10b) of the reinforcement end in a claw (11) which limits the amount of door opening when it turns around the hinge pin (12). The construction can be used with lateral and rear doors. The construction gives greater safety in the event of an accident.
