Abstract

The structure is particularly for platforms above sea level, comprising a column or set of columns secured together, and each of prefabricated sections placed one on top of the other. A central vertical steel pipe extends through openings in the sections, which bear against each other by means of mating convex and concave surfaces. The lower end of the pipe is secured to a prefabricated concrete foundation piece, on which concrete column sections are stacked, the openings in them being of larger diameter than the outside diameter of the pipe. The intervening space is filled with concrete, as is the space inside the pipe simultaneously to form a rigid concrete unit. Thus the pipe is embedded in the concrete and acts as a reinforcement against bending loads.
