Abstract

Hollow tower can be prefabricated or assembled in sections and anchored to an underwater foundation to provide an outlet pipe at the base and inlets at various higher levels which can be selected from controls at the top. The foundation comprises a self-levelling plate set in underwater concrete and securing the bottom section of the tower. Tower sections may be made of glass/polyestr resin laminates, or reinforced concrete or steel with an anti-corrosion coating. Suitable for installation in reservoirs without draining the reservoir or for marine use.
