Abstract

A process for converting vegetable matls. into valuable prods. useful as animal feedstuffs comprises treating the matls., selected from green forage, germinating grain rootlets, oil calses and plant waste such as coffee or cacao husks, rice hulls, beetroot pulps and slops, with a natural biological compN obtd. by treating by-prods. of flour with an enzymic fraction, pref. extracted from freshly germinating grains, the enzymic fraction being opt. combined with synthetic enzymes. The prods. obtd are also claimed. The process can be applied to plant wastes, e.g. coffee husks, which hitherto have been considered useless.
