Abstract

The central body (1) of the valve comprises a sleeve (8) fitted with inserts (7) forming the seat for the valve ball (2). Each end flange (4) connects into the pipework and inlet and outlet apertures, these passing through sleeve and ball. Insulating spacers (32) insulate each end flange from the central body. The assembly is clamped by threaded studs and nuts tightening inside insulating sleeves (34). Each end flange is provided with a separate earthing wire (36) held between nuts (37, 39) on studs (38). The ball is operated by a sealed spindle (3) terminating in a knob or handwheel (6) fitted with stops (26) to limit movement.
