Abstract

The detector comprises two electrodes (10a, 10b) positioned near to each other along the external surface of the pipeline carrying the liquid. An oscillator (12) supplies the segment of pipeline between the two electrodes with a high frequency (100 to 200 kHz) current and the voltage (V1) at the terminals of this segment is compared with a voltage (V) proportional to that of the oscillator (12). A capacitor (11), or other constant impedance, may be placed in series with the pipeline segment.
