Abstract

Travelling torch carrier, for use in a turret turntable for glassware mfr. at a number of working stations each with a separate torch, in continuous rotation, each torch carrier comprises a head with a carriage movable with the torch and a drive mechanism pivoting it about a fixed support between an engagement position and release position, and urged against adjustable stop in the working position, and urged against adjustable stop in the working position by a spring. The head is fixed to a vertical shaft, bearing on a frame in the support, a coaxial not on the shaft being held in a predetermined angular position in the bearing by means of a key, and being screwed onto the shaft so that it abuts the stop with sufficient play to bring it back to its engagement position. The carrier is used on appts. for the mfr. of pharmaceutical ampoules and other tubular glass articles.
