Abstract

1427967 Layout apparatus BENDIX CORP 14 June 1973 [16 June 1972] 28476/73 Heading B4X [Also in Division G1] Layout apparatus comprises a work-table 15 having a plurality of locating stations 13 thereon, a guide rail 12 selectively engageable with at least one of the stations 13 and pivotable about said one station to a selected angular position, an arcuate arm 17 carried by the guide rail 12, and a layout device 11 adapted to slide along the guide rail 12. The guide rail 12 can be fixedly located on two of the locating stations 13 which it engages by shot pins but, for angular adjustment the arcuate arm 17 slides in a bracket 16 which is fixed to one of the locating stations 13. The layout device 11 includes a base 20, a vertical column 35, a bracket 40 slidably adjustable on the column 35, and an adjustable transverse arm 41 with scribing means 42, 43; the base has projecting arms 21, 22 provided with manually controlled means for coarse and fine adjustment of the device along the guide rail 12. Suitable measurement scales are provided on the guide rail 12, arcuate arm 17, column 35 and transverse arm 41. Reference is made to the guide rail as alternatively supporting a digital read-out rack. (For Figure see next column.)
