Abstract

The fan is particularly for motor vehicle radiators, and has a rotor with angled blades driven by an electric motor mounted inside a tubular cowl on radial support brackets. A one-piece plastic moulding forms the cowl, a number of brackets extending radially inwards from the cowl edge and axially outwards from this edge, and a central portion of profiled section to which the brackets are joined. This portion constitutes part of the frame and one of the bearings of the motor. The remaining parts of the motor are mounted in line with it, so as to maintain the rotor in position inside the cowl.
