Abstract

The plastic grip for fixing tubes or cables consists of a semi-cylindrical rigid portion (1a) carrying an internally threaded boss (2) for the support pin (9). One arm of this portion carries two sets of ratchet teeth (6) with a channel between them. The other arm is extended into a tail (4), long enough to surround the pipe/cable and carrying teeth (5) to mesh with those on the other arm. A further extension (4a) forms a grip by which the tail may be tensioned around the pipe on assembly. This tension stretches the material slightly, ensures a good grip on the cable and a firm connection between the sets of ratchet teeth.
