Abstract
1318415 Pull-through means G BELL 23 June 1971 [7 July 1970] 32785/70 Heading F2N [Also in Division H2] A device Fig. 1 for drawing insulated cables or conductors through conduits or the like, comprises a lead string 10 attached to the closed narrow end of a tapering sock or flexible tube 11, the open end tube 13 having a mooring string 14 attached thereto. In use, the cables are inserted into the tube, their ends being bound together with tape (e.g. PVC tape) and the mooring string is further bound about the cables (Fig. 3). The lead string is passed through the conduit, and subsequently used to haul the cables through the conduit. The sock may be knitted and made of the same material as the lead-in and mooring strings e.g. nylon filaments twisted together. The lead mooring strings may be integral with the sock. The device may be used with P.V.C. insulated cables.
