Abstract

The pump or motor has two meshing pinions mounted on parallel shafts (12) and (13). The end face of the body (1) is divided into five zones (27, 27a, 28, 28a) and (30) by sealing elements (23, 23a, 24 and 24a) which fit in matching grooves. The zone (27) is maintained at the pressure of the port (5), which may be inlet or outlet according to the direction of rotation and the zone (27a) is maintained at the pressure of the port (4) which may be outlet or inlet. The zones (28) and (28a) are maintained at the tooth pressures on the sides of the pinions opposite to the meshing side, and the zone (30) is maintained at an intermediate pressure supplied from a controlled hydraulic reservoir.
