Abstract

The headlamp adjusting mechanism with a horizontal screw under the lamp housing which is rotated inside a nut behind the reflector, so as to wing the transparent cover backwards, has the nut (16) forming part of a subassembly (14) attached to a flange (12) of the reflector and a sheet (10) attached to the transparent cover. A resilient ring (22) is inserted between these two members (10, 12) and a resilient bush (23) inserted through all three components from behind the reflector (12). Finally the nut (16) which itself is of resilient material, and with a spherically faced (25) flange (21) above it, is secured by inserting a set of fingers (27) through the bush (23) so that their hooked ends (26) grip it. An alternative subassembly using a securing screw is shown.
