Abstract

The swimmer is supported between two side bars (1) with a cross bar at the front. A disc (3) pivots on this cross bar and is held in both hands to direct the swimming support in a horizontal or vertical plane. The disc can be manoeuvred horizontally to move a rudder (32) by means of strings which pass through the hollow side bars. The feet of the swimmer operate pedals which rotate a crankshaft (11), the end of which is engaged in a system of gear wheels to increase the speed. This movement is transmitted to the propeller (19) by a flexible cable.
