Abstract

The chimney has a high thermal efficiency, utilising the heat generated both inside and outside the hearth with large heat recovery surfaces. It has a corrugated vertical face (3) forming the backplate, and a horizontal superheat chamber joined to the tubular hearth grate (2) and situated between the two halves of the hearth which supply it directly with air from outside. The double-bottom hearth can form a horizontal chamber divided into two by the ash pan below the grate and below a partition joined by ports to the hearth halves to which the external air flows directly.
