Abstract

The afterburner for cleaning contaminated industrial waste air has a combustion chamber into which is built a burner and the supply line for the contaminated air. The flame front is spread out to produce a large flame surface area. The waste air is blown concentrically around the flame into the combustion chamber. The supply line 17 has a nozzle 23 which is connected to a swirler 24 by means of which the flame is given a swirling movement around the longitudinal axis of the burner pipe. The waste air is supplied through the channel 20 and this air passes through the perforations 27 into the chamber 26 which encloses the burner.
