Abstract

A burner, in particular for liquid fuels comprises two pipes 1, 2, arranged coaxially one within another. Fuel is supplied through internal pipe (2) and primary air is supplied through the annular space between pipes 1 and 2. A tapered fuel nozzle (4) is arranged at the end of the internal pipe and air swirl producing means (3) are arranged in the annular space in the region of the nozzle outlet (5). A deflecting body (6) arranged downstream of the nozzle outlet atomises fuel impinging thereon so that a core of flame is formed with the primary air supplied. <IMAGE>
