Abstract

An arc suppression comb comprises a series of metal fingers mounted on a laminated support made of layers, of asbestos paper on the surfaces of a core layer of insulating material such as polyester resin. The combs are components of flameproof electrical switchgear. The laminates offer a better combination of elasticity and heat resistance that supports made of vulcanized fibres or "presspan.".
