Abstract

A machine for manufacturing tubes, esp. fibre-reinforced resin tubes, comprises a central reolving head from which a number of spindles radiate outwards, so that as the revolver head turns, the spindles are eacy successively brought to a different operating station (A, B, C, D). Preferably, all the spindles lie in a horizontal plane, supported at their inner ends by the revolver head, and at their outer ends by a temporary bearing. Station (A) is pref. used for applying the separating wrapping onto the spindle station (B) for winding using a travelling carriage for feeding the fibre reinforcement onto the spindle, station (c) is for the finishing operations and has a vapour removal hood, while at station (D) the finished pipes are ejected. Compressed air is pref. used for ejecting the pipes. Successive operations are carried out on a pipe in one single apparatus, thus eliminating transfer times between separate items of equipment.
