Abstract

The object is to prevent inadvertent operation of the trigger resulting in firing the cartridge. A separate safety bolt is provided which crosses the path of the firing bolt when the cartridge has been fired, thus preventing the percussion head of the bolt striking a newly loaded cartridge when the trigger is operated. The safety bolt is spring loaded and has a button protruding through the tool housing. When the button is pressed a waisted section of the safety bolt moves across the line of the firing bolt and the tool can be triggered. Catch and trigger can be arranged for one hand operation.
