Abstract
The mixture of air and fuel enters the inlet duct (1) which directs the mixture tangentially into the annular chamber (2) which opens out into the conical chamber (3). The inlet valves (5) of each of the engine cylinders open into the conical chamber (3). This arrangement gives the air a swirling motion, which ensures that fuel and air are completely mixed. The exhaust valves (10) lead into radial ducts (11) which communicate with a circular tube of rectangular cross-section (16). The swirl induced in the circular exhaust manifold creates a low pressure which applies a suction to the pistons during the exhaust stroke and increases the engine power.
