Abstract

The windscreen wiper blade is braced against the windscreen by two sub-brackets which are clipped into a main support bracket by snap fastening clips which also serve as pivot points. The sub-brackets have their outer ends clipped to the wiper blade at fixed points while the inner ones have a sliding fit. The sub-brackets grip the groove in the wiper blade and the outer ends of the groove are protected by bent over tags which clip the bracket claws in position. The middle bracket assembly is metallic whereas the pivot member is made of plastics.
