Abstract

The clog is designed to permit natural foot flexure during walking etc. and features a sole formed from two interhinging elements (3, 4); with the hinge (7) locating in the vicinity of the toe joints. An upper thin sole is provided between the wearer's foot and the sole elements (3, 4), this upper sole being slotted to permit passage of a shoe strap. An unslotted upper sole can be used with the strap fixed to the sole (3) sides (14). The sole elements (3, 4) are of rigid material i.e. wood with an anti-skid sound absorbent coating or rubber or plastic provided on the lower faces.
