Abstract

Device for feeding a combing machine or similar equipment, comprising (i) a group of feed cylinders at least one of which is motorised, driven at constant speed, (ii) a support and guide table for the sliver in the form of a channel concave downwards and pivotable round an axis perpendicular to the direction of displacement of the sliver and mounted at the outlet of the feed cylinder, (iii) a support element for the table downstream of the pivot axis associated with an energy accumulator (spring) mounted so as to be compressed by means of the table when tension is applied to the sliver by the feed comb and so as to transmit a tension to the sliver when the tension exerted by the feed comb is zero, (iv) a deflector downstream of the pivotable table cooperating with a guide wall so as to guide the sliver into the channel of the feed comb, (v) a reciprocating feed comb with a series of teeth able to confer a continuous and uniform motion on the fibrous sliver introduced into a rotary comb under substantially constant tension.
