Abstract

1326200 Break-spinning T M M (RESEARCH) Ltd 12 Jan 1971 [8 Jan 1970] 1020/70 Heading DID In apparatus in which a supply of fibrous material 1, e.g. a web, is delivered by a feed roller 4 and opening means 7 to an open-end spinning rotor 11 from which spun yarn 16 is withdrawn at 18, the material is first subjected to drawing between a pair of rollers 2, 2<SP>1</SP> and a second pair of rollers 3, 3<SP>1</SP> running at higher speed. The feed roller 4 coacts with a spring-loaded pedal 5 pivoted at 6, and the opening means 7 comprises a wire-clothed beater. The opened and combed fibres pass to the rotor through a tube 8 in which an air flow is induced by suction applied at 9.
