Abstract

A rectangular step (1) is supported by an assembly (2) of two longitudinals (11, 12) and two supports (13, 14) and two ties (15, 16). The geometry decides the angle of opening, which can be varied due to two hinges (21). A cross bar (19) joins the supports (13, 14) and keeps them spaced apart. The step (1) is fixed at two points (17, 18) on its shorter sides. The upper parts of the longitudinals (11, 12) pivot around axis (x-x') on two lugs (22, 23) fixed to the caravan. Two cover caps (24, 25) protect the ends of the supports (13, 14). The assembly folds up underneath the caravan when not in use and is locked by a spring loaded pull handle (7) released locking lever (4).
