Abstract

The device is designed to inhibit slack and local high bearing pressures and associated rapid wear and obtains lateral and vertical rigidity with the tooth point (10) and an adaptor abutting on only three surfaces (13 -15). The three surfaces are triangularly disposed w.r.t. one another and this arrangement is effected by using an adaptor section which is assymetrical w.r.t. its horizontal axis in conjunction with a tooth point socket symmetrical w.r.t. this axis. The socket and adaptor have hexagonal sections which taper towards the tip of the tooth point and the socket and adaptor are locked together by a pin (v) formed from two metal half pins joined by rubber, so the pin forces the abutting surfaces together.
