Abstract

Composite textiles made by pressing the underside of a fabric made of non-woven fibres welded together at the roots, against a heated support sheet to obtain a direct bond. The method is used for the mfr. of wall coverings with a nap surface. The support sheet enhances the dimensional stability of the fibrous fabric during hanging, is uniformly impermeable to any exudation or dust issuing from the supporting wall, thus inhibits staining of the surface fabric. Structure does not involve an intermediate adhesive.
