[Also in Division A4] A floor covering for motor vehicles comprises a textile top layer 1 which may be a needle felt or tufted woven fabric to the underside of which (which appears uppermost in the drawing) is fused on or sintered on a coating layer of thermoplastic material with which a felt underlay 2 is bonded to the underside of the textile top layer, the felt underlay being covered on its underside by a foil 3 of thermoplastic material which is drawn over the edges of the felt underlay and is welded to the coating layer of thermoplastic material on the underside of the textile top layer.
