Abstract

Fuels for IC engines (esp. glow-plug engines used in model aeroplanes) comprise a homogeneous mixt. of (A) 5-95 vol % of gasoline and (B) 95-5 vol % of a mixt. of (a) 10-90 vol.% of >=1 of 1-4C mono- or dinitroalkanes (esp. CH3NO2) and (b) 90-10 vol % of a liq. ester lubricant with a viscosity of >=1 cS at 38 degrees C selected from (1) esters of linear or branched prim. alcohols and linear dicarboxylic acid, (2) esters of branched monocarboxylic acids and linear diols and/or polyalkylene glycols, (3) esters of linear prim. alcohols and branched dicarboxylic acids, (4) esters of neopentyl polyols, and linear or branched monocarboxylic acids, and (5) mixed esters of linear or branched pri. alcohols, linear or branched mono- or di-carboxylic acids and polyalkylene glycols, with the proviso that the fuel contains =25 vol % of the ester lubricant.
