Abstract

PURPOSE: A fluidity improver for a hydrocarbon type fuel oil, capable of lowering a cold filter plugging point, comprising an ester of a hydroxyl group-containing nitrogen compound with a straight-chain saturated fatty acid.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A nitrogen compound (e.g., triethanolamine, methyldiethanolamine, etc.) containing preferably 2W10 hydroxyl groups is esterified with (B) a straight-chain saturated fatty acid (e.g., 16W24C fatty acid such as preferably palmitic acid, behenic acid, etc.) to give the desired fluidity improver. 10W 5,000ppm (preferably 50W1,000ppm) of the ester is added to a fuel oil.
EFFECT: The pour point of fuel oil is lowered, storage properties and transportation properties are improved, and even a high-boiling fraction is made usable, to improve productivity.
