Abstract

A burner fed with air and butane gas, the latter in liquid form stored in a suitable container and under pressure, has a valve for each supply line, interconnected to ensure the correct gas/air mixture, and the air supply passes through a jacket around the burner tube before mixing with the gas near the entry point into the burner tube. Around this entry point is mounted a cylindrical, tangentially bladed turbine wheel through which the gas passes, while the air is distributed over the periphery of the wheel, ensuring, good mixing of the air which has been previously preheated while passing through the jacket. The arrangement ensures that the temperature of the gas/air mixture will not fall below 0 deg.C, thus prevents frosting.
