Abstract

The device fixes blade (1) retaining cover (6) to a percussive tool (2), e.g. road or concrete breaker, to prevent accidental uncoupling due to the constant vibration whilst maintaining ease of blade replacement. A blade flange (4) buffer face (8) is incorporated on the retaining cover, a radially grooved (14, 15) elastic washer (13) bearing placed between cooperating faces (9, 11) of the cover (6) and housing (2), and there being threads (5, 7) on the coupling surfaces of these latter two components. Limited tightening of the assembly produces an anti-rotational friction between counter bearing thread faces. The gentler slope of saw teeth is between 15 deg. and 35 deg. to the longitudinal axis. The washer locates at either end of the thread w.r.t. the blade axis and the cover is of plug or sleeve form.
