Abstract
A compact rotary heat recuperator with discs mounted inside a cylindrical chamber divided into two sections by a layer of air under pressure, and the heated air being fed to a heater, generator, motor, turbine etc., has a set of ceramic discs (11) enclosed in the chamber (1) separated by spaces (3) driven by a motor and reduction gear unit (4) forming an air compressor, the air under pressure being fed into a pressure chamber (5) through an opening (6), the chamber being formed between two metal combs (7, 8) between the discs (11). This forms two channels (9, 10) for hot gases, moving in counterflow. The rotation of the discs gives to the discs a self cleaning action.
