1382603 Rotary positive-displacement engines T HENGSBACH and G OLBRISCH 14 June 1972 27911/72 Heading F1F An I.C. engine comprises a sliding-vane compressor 20, a combustion chamber 21 and a sliding- vane motor 22 connected to the compressor by a shaft 24 and variable transmission 23, which is controlled in accordance with the pressure and temperature in the chamber 21 so as to maintain a constant pressure in the latter. The compressor and motor are said to effect adiabatic changes of pressure. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the motor is replaced with four motors of differing capacities, which motors can be used in various combinations.
