Abstract

The support sections are standardised and the components are usually constructed of synthetic insulating materials and often have portions moulded differently to adapt to the various types of support. These portions are elastically deformable to grip the support and can suffer failures due to ageing of the material and fatigue. The fixing described will fit on either of two standard sections (11, 12) equally well and consists of a moulded plastic body (25) into which is fitted a metal spring clip (38), which deforms instead of the plastic. Angled or parallel mounting on the support (11) is possible and a loop (31) in the spring holds the component in place. A pin (50) may be inserted in the loop to lock the component in position and one pin may serve several components.
