Abstract

A glass faced fire resistant panel has a tempered glass facing panel (5) attached to a heat resistant layer (1) of glass wool or rock wool by an adhesive layer (2), with a metal wire mesh (3) embedded in the adhesive. This grid can also be formed to anchor in the inner layer (1). A panel may be double glass faced, with an outer glass layer (9) similarly secured by an adhesive layer (6) with an embedded mesh (7). The mesh may also be designed with some wires extending for anchorage to the frame or surround. The heat resistant core may be formed of several sheets separated by metal meshes.
