Abstract

The drive, for gondola cabins, ski-lifts or other mechanical ascent appliances working in conjunction with a traction cable, comprises a hydraulic coupling linked to the drive-shaft of a combustion engine, followed by a friction coupling, a mechanical turning gear and mechanical form-locked connection with the traction-cable drive-wheel reduction gear. The free return locking wheel is on the hydraulic coupling, rotating in the same direction as the machine housing, to check rotation against the revolution direction of the combustion engine, and the forward-running locking wheel is on the combustion engine drive-shaft, running the opposite way to the first wheel, preventing any revolution faster than the angular velocity of the drive-shaft.
