Abstract

A system of manufacturing the grid plates for lead accumulators on a continuous process. A rolled sheet of lead alloy of 0.5 to 1 mm. thickness is first produced. A press tool is used to stamp windows out of the sheet producing frames of similar thickness to that of the sheet. The grid so produced is given a finish and then subjected to heat treatment. The stamping process of the window is carried out in two stages. The rod frames obtained by the stamping process can have a cross section that is either rectangular circular or elliptical. The lead alloy plate is rolled to a given thickness by a continuous process.
