Abstract

A lifting table can be raised and lowered by a sytem of jacks and has a support at one end to hold the propeller so that it can be swung from a horizontal position to a vertical position. The weight is taken by a travelling vertical support underneath the overhang, so that the propellor can be held in line with the stern tube which is supported on an adjacent platform. The latter platform has a conical shaped support which holds the centre boss of the propeller in its in-line position, and has a leg which also steadies the stern post. The second platform then travels towards the first, passing under the overhang of the latter so that the propellor enters the stern tube.
