Abstract

Easy, selective, cheap replacement of worn portions of the internal wall facings of containers is provided by this system. The facings are made up of pieces of steel sheet (2) having a wear resistant material (4) bonded to the inside face. The upper edges (3) of the sheets are turned over backwards to form long hooks, which engage with a series of complementary horizontal hooked supports (6, 6') fixed to the walls of the container. The sheets are hooked on to the supports like tiles, to complete the facing. Spacially shaped edge pieces accommodate the taper usually found in hoppers. Replacements may be fitted by unskilled labour and worn sheets may be refaced cheaply at the factory. Magnetic fixing is a possible alternative to the hooks.
