Abstract

The body (1) of the vessel, cylindrical in form, is sloped upwards at the front (6) to form the bow (4). The stern is formed from a similar conical section (5). At the rear is a rigid platform (15) which carries a propulsion unit, a pumping unit for filling and emptying and a compressor unit for maintaining internal pressure. Attached to, and forming part of, this platform is a stabiliser in the shape of a fixed rudder (46) which projects below the conical rear. A post (16), above sea level, on the rudder acts as a central location for the equipment necessary for operation.
