Abstract

A rod antenna for use in vehicles or in transportable broadcasting installations includes a spiral spring for electrical or flexibility purposes; and a rod of an insulating matl., pref. plastics, passing through the centre of the spring along its axis. The plastics rod is attached to the aerial rod and/or the spring, and is pref. of polyethylene, polyamide, and acrylonitrile butadiene styrol polymer or vulcollan. Excessive oscillation of the antenna is thus prevented.
