Abstract

1,156,985. Insulating apparatus. F. L. ROGERS and W. W. ROGERS. 30 Sept., 1966 [21 Oct., 1965], No. 43886/66. Heading B5A. [Also in Division F4] An insulating component is made by coating a former with a plastics skin to provide coated and uncoated areas, placing a pre-formed shell thereover contacting the former at a line spaced from the coated area and providing an enclosure which is filled with uncured, foamable material, heating it to foam and cure the material which adheres to the skin and the shell. The skin may be a vinyl resin and the foam may be a polyurethane; the shell may be glass-fibre-reinforced polyester. A portable insulating kit (Figs. 1-3, not shown) may be made comprising two such components (30, 31) fastened together, one or both having a depression (32) therein defining a compartment for containers.
