Abstract

A convection heater with its casing shaped as an upright rectangular column (10) with the finned heater (5) inside its base, and a distributor grille (2) at the top, has a horizontal flap (8) above the heater which is rotated automatically to control the amount of heated air passing through the grille. A thermostat (11) inside a housing (13) forming also the regulating handle is mounted on the side of the housing and operates a switch which controls a battery powered motor (17) which rotates the spindle of the flap through a cord drive (22, 23, 25). The final wheel (25) of the drive carries stops to actuate a relay (19) to shut off the power supply (18) for the motor.
