Abstract

PURPOSE:To directly give the driver a feeling of warmth at the transient time of operation in winter, by fitting a steering column cover with a heater comprising a fan, a heating element which heats under electricity supply, a casing and a blowoff grille. CONSTITUTION:A heater 1 is provided on the top of a steering column cover 2 for a steering wheel 3. Electric power supply from a battery 15 to an electric fan 12 and a heating element 13 through a fuse 16 and switches 17, 18 is effected or stopped by manually operating the switches. Air sent from the electric fan 12 is heated by heat exchange as the air flows through the holes 13a of the heating element 13 caused to heat by the electric power supply. The warm air is blown off toward the face 4a and hands 4b of the driver 4 through a blowoff grille 14a.
