Abstract
The machine has a stator with an even number of slots containing sliding vanes. Within the stator is a rotor with a different even number of radial slots containing sliding vanes. The stator and rotor are arranged so that there is a space between them which forms the working chambers. The stator has inlet and outlet ports on either side of the stator vanes. The stator vanes are wider than the rotor slots as they pass each other. The stator vanes have a hydraulic pressure behind them higher than that in the rotor slots so that the rotor vanes do not penetrate the stator slots as they pass each other.
